Soorma is the true story of the Indian Hockey player Sandeep Singh Bhinder. The movie shows one of the greatest comebacks in the history of sports. Sandeep Singh was paralyzed and used a wheelchair for two years after an accidental gunshot injured him in the year 2006. However, he got back on his feet through sheer determination, hard work and unrelenting passion for the sport and made a miraculous comeback to international Hockey in the year 2008. India won the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in 2009 under his captaincy and went on to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.
