Story/Plot:
The Nun is an upcoming American Gothic supernatural horror film directed by Corin Hardy. It is a spin-off of 2016’s ‘The Conjuring 2’ and is set to be the fifth addition in ‘The Conjuring’ series.
James Wan, director of the record-setting horror hits ‘The Conjuring’ and ‘The Conjuring 2’, explores another dark corner of that universe with ‘The Nun’. A young Nun in 1952 at a cloistered abbey Romania commits suicide, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate the mysterious death of the Catholic priest at the Cârța Monastery. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the demonic Nun as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.
‘The Nun‘ stars Oscar nominated Demian Bichir (‘A Better Life’), Taissa Farmiga (TV’s ‘American Horror Story’), and Jonas Bloquet (‘Elle’). The cast also includes Charlotte Hope (TV’s ‘Game of Thrones’), Ingrid Bisu (‘Toni Erdmann’), and Bonnie Aarons, reprising her ‘The Conjuring 2’ role as the title character.
